KITTY LITTER BRIDIN DAYDREAMS DINNER TO GO DONE WITH ROME LADIES OF THE NIGHT LIMERICK TOWN
"Kitty Litter" Cat owners will recognize "the crazies" but still love them...
"Kitty Litter"
A cat was on the kitchen bord, another on the floor. A third was on the counter scratching at the cabnet door. A fourth was on the burning stove sniffing at the pot And the fifth one didn't seem to care the stew was might hot. The whistling of the boiling kettle startled number six Then in ran little number seven up to all her tricks. She slid across the table and scattered all the plates. The sound of all the dishes crashing set of all her mates. The fifth cat jumped in terror, knocking down the stew To the second cat down on the floor who knew just what to do. She took off running through the house escaping from the heat, The other cats chased after her through gravy, spuds and meat. There were footprints on the curtains and pictures off the wall As they scattered all the hot potatoes up and down the hall. The lady of the house took off with broom and mop in hand On a journey she seemed used to to catch her feisty band. Each furry arse went flying by as every cat took flight As their mistress swung her mop and broom and cursed with all her might. She cleaned up all the gravy and food from off the floor. With temper lost she started back to even up the score! But when she reached the parlour with murder on her mind She found her cats were fast asleep now, having played and dined. She mellowed and grew kinder as they snuggled on the chair, She knew her life would be a bore if her cats were not there! Every cat lover has one like this... "Bridín" (The Lady of the House!) Resting her head on my shoulder, I feel honored that I hold her. Pride and gentleness together scratching fabric, wood and leather. Hunting dustballs on the floor, running in and out the door. Watching fish cook in the chowder. Pawing me and crying louder. Fiercely stalking rustling dry leaves. Needing rescue from the tall trees My companion on my walking In her own way, she is talking, Telling me of her fun and play. Resting at the end of each day. She curls so snuggly on my bed after she's been loved and well fed. Copyright 1996, Cáit Finnegan Return to Directory at top OR RETURN TO THE COMPLETE ALPHABETICAL LIST OF SONGS

"Daydreams" can sometimes really be nightmares!
Daydreams! The clock alarm went off and scared me half to death as it called me back from my dream, all out of breath. I jumped out of the bed and I landed on the floor, where the puppy left his mark. Oh, who could ask for more? I shivered down the hall and sat my cold arse down (where my man had left the seat up), and thought that I would drown! Oh, I let out a roar with my feet up in the air, and the family all ran to me all to help me and to stare! Ah but, they yanked me out and they surely saved my life. And my man, says he, so proudly: "Sure, and that's my wife!" Out in the kitchen making some brew, we quietly sat down to have a cup or two, When a moth, on the light bulb hanging overhead, fell with a splash in my coffee cup, stone dead! But I, not seeing him, lifted it to drink, and came eye to eye with him and threw up in the sink! I thought it would get better if I went inside and dressed and left for my work while looking my best. But as I stepped onto the city bus outside a roar went up around me as the air hit my backside. For my skirt was caught back on the garden gate and the bus drove off midst laughter which cruelly sealed my fate! I buried my head in my arms so deep in a vain attempt my pride to keep. The bus drove on and lulled me away to sleep and to dream of a better day. Then a clock alarm went off and scared me half to death as it called me back from my dream, all out of breath. Was I awake now or was I asleep? I stepped out of bed in a puddle so deep... Twas then that terror gripped me and I jumped back into bed, afraid of the day before me and what might lie ahead! Our "Ladies of the Night" -- Well they put the other ladies to shame...
"Ladies of the Night"
Our ladies of the night they prowl around just out of sight. We'll hear their gentle steps placed upon the ground so light. They roam around the house all night with friend or spouse youÕll hear them fight. They'll catch their prey and then they'll bite. Our ladies of the night! With their furcoats shining bright in the cool and pale moon light they are such a lovely sight. Our ladies of the night! When you hear them howl they call you to relieve their plight. You know their motive 's really fowl; giving in would not be right. Then you'll hear them purr. TheyÕre begging to come in tonight to warm the pussy's fur. Just squeeze them all and hold them tight. But don't become attached. They'll take your love and then take flight. You'll never be a match for our ladies of the night. When the dawn comes round they come like vamps after a night and you'll not hear a sound as they sleep all through the bright daylight! O ladies of the night you are such a pretty sight in the day or in the night we love our cats with all our might. "Dinner to Go" was frequently a take-home treat for our huge Coon cat, Bootsy
"DINNER TO GO"
He sits on the table licking his ass,
on this rainy day, so the time will pass.
I go to the kitchen, prepare his meal
I turn and I ask him: "How do you feel?"
"Well woman," says he, "I fell a bit bored.
That noise, 'twas my stomach; sounds like it roared.
So what e'er you're fixin', 'tho, it smells so good,
I'd rather eat out, if only I could.
Please, open the door in back of the house,
I'd like to go out and dine on a mouse." Copyright Cait Finnegan Return to Directory at top OR RETURN TO THE COMPLETE ALPHABETICAL LIST OF SONGS
"Limerick Town" may not be the one you've visited...
Limerick Town "Boulder Holder" There once was a huge boulder holder And it yanked and it pulled at her shoulder 'til she tore it asunder and O God, the wonder in the eyes of all who behold her! "Bruce" There once was a fellow named Bruce who tripped with his head in a noose. But he didn't despair and he just hung in there thinking of ways to get loose. A maiden rode by on a moose and cut at the end of his noose. And oh what a pair with nary a care for the maiden she too was loose! The Married Priest There once was a priest from Assumption was told he was filled with presumption but he loved his dear wife who brought joy to his life and now he has no more compunction! Student #1 There once was a student of studies who grew shy in the presence of buddies but when you came near away went the fear and now he sees starries not muddies. Student #2 There once was a student at Fordham who thought that he'd just die of boredom He was proper and prim until you moved in and now it's to Hell with decorum!
