"Madonna and Child"

As we keep in mind that Christ was born for all creation, we celebrate by offering the

beautiful presentation of the Madonna and Child portrayed as Black.  It is important to

realize that each and every nationality and race has experienced the redemptive Love

of Christ, and expresses it for their own people in ways in which they can personally

relate.  The historical accuracy of the specific race, religion and nationality of the

Madonna and Child is known and understood. 

We have all seen the Madonna and Child portrayed as White, blond haired, and

blue eyes of the Northern European people.  We have seen the darker skin Madonna

of Mediterranean countries.  Tim Ashkar give us the portrayal of this maternal love

within the Black communities of the world.  We are delighted to have discovered this

piece of art, and offer it to you framed or as a poster.
