Rose Of Sharon SUPPORT GROUPS As needs arise, so do support groups. We bring to our grief the support of our spirituality. In Holy Scripture, in The Song of Songs we read the verse "I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valley..." The Sharon Valley was known for its beautiful fragrance, created by the roses and lilies that filled it. During the day, workers in the fields would go there to refresh themselves and eat, and return to work renewed. In the Scripture God tells us that He is the Rose of Sharon, and implies that we too can be renewed spiritually when we rest in the "divine fragrance" of God/The Rose of Sharon. For us, our spirituality is nourished by firm Christian convictions regarding everlasting life, AND the Communion of Saints. This group is open to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one, friend or family member. Although outward signs of mourning may lessen, there is no time limitation to the grief one may suffer when death changes our relationships. Grief may hit at anytime, during various seasons, or particular times of life. It is NORMAL, and can often be eased by sharing it with others who understand. Peer support is a vital part of dealing with such grief. Don't hesitate to seek it out. Many believe that we do not HEAL as much as we DEAL with grief, and come to terms with it as a part of our lives which, along with our joys, make up the fabric of our hearts. Grief Support Group meets on Friday evenings from 7 PM to 8:30 PM. Call 570-595-2705 for information.
We also offer Grief Support to those who have lost a beloved pet. Groups form as need is indicated.
